Top tips for booking your golf day

We’ve put a few tips together when coming to book your golf day below!

Be prepared

When you are looking to book your golf day, preparation is key. Everyone is fully aware that in order to get the best deal and the best tee times, you need to book well in advance. People are getting to the stage where they are bookings up to 18-24 months in advance so that they don’t lose out. So all in all – be prepared!

Know what you're booking

Ensure you know your numbers and the package that you are looking for. It may be that further down the line that you wish to increase you numbers but can’t due to lack of availability, so make sure your group are committed. If you're booking catering, arrange this in good time as this will save the service time and guarantee refreshments. You don’t want rumbling stomachs on the course.

Looking to hire buggies?

Remember that not all clubs have buggies – check this at the time and ensure you book well in advance to secure. On many occasions, people are often left disappointed when they call the day before to book a buggy and it's not available, so this is a must-add to your checklist!

Check your golf contract

Nobody likes to read the small print, but somebody's got to do it! We're all very aware of the expense involved in a golf day, so important to know what you're signing up for and what you're liable for if you or part of your group cancel. Check the package, prices and numbers - and then check it again.

It’s always worth an ask

Looking at having a golf day for more than 12 players? There's almost always a society price that applies to a party of this size, so it's definitely worth asking about. This may help towards your prize fund and who doesn’t like a nice prize?

Check the reviews

If you haven’t played the course before, always check the reviews. Look up their social media accounts and see what people are writing and tweeting about them. If you don't live too far away, see for yourself and pay a visit to the club to check out the facilities first-hand.

Ready steady go…

Now that all the prep work is done, the day is here. The car is packed, waterproofs at the ready! Before any busy golf day, you'll want to get your bearings together before you head off. Go straight to the pro shop to check in your group and go through the day to ensure all is in order. Collet your score cards and ask any questions you may have. Lastly – Enjoy your day!

Give feedback

This is very important as feedback for any club is a gift. It's how they know what they do well and what needs improving.

We hope the above gives you a little insight into approaching your golf society day.

If you are looking for a venue to host, we are now taking 2023 bookings for golf society days here at Wrexham Golf Club with prices starting from just £30.00 per person, with groups of 12 or more. Learn more here.
